Abstract:This paper adopts the Practical Color Coodinate System (PCCS)toperformquantitativeresearchand visual analysis on theautobodycolorsof thirty-eight models from seven domestic New Energy Vehicle (NEV)brandsover the past five years. An autobodycolor database was established by extracting RGB values of autobody colors and converting them into PCCS toneparameters.Sankey diagrams wereutilizedtovisualizeandanalyze therelationalmechanismsamong "brand,basecolor system,and PCCS tone."Theresearch findings demonstrate thatachromaticcolorsystem (black,white,andgrey)maintain theirdominant position inNEVautobodycolorselection,whileblue,green,andpurplehave graduallemergedasprevailing colorsamongNEV.Furthermore,diferentiatedautobodycolorstrategiesplayapivotalroleinconstructingandenhancingbrand recognition.Notably,thequantifiedtoneresultsexhibitahighdegreeofconsistencywiththeoficialcolorstyledefinitions formulated bythe participatingautomotivebrands,thereby verifying the validity andapplicabilityof the PCCS in analyzing color-brand corelation.This study provides a data-driven quantitative analysis framework forNEVautobody color design, which facilitates theaccurategraspofolorappicationpattersand marketvisualpreferences,andfurtersupportsefficientand scientific color design decisions in the NEV industry.
