Abstract：AsakeyfigureofPost-Impressionsm and the "fatherofmodernpainting"，Paul Cezanne'slate portraitscreated from1895 to1906 mark thetransformationof Western painting fromtraditionalrepresentational artto modern structural painting.Taking hisportraitsofthisperiodas theresearchobject，thispaper starts withthetransformationofhiscreative contextandcolorcognition.Itinfers howtherelevant worksform fourcorecreativepaths：theconstructionofcolorharmony， the structural expresionofcolor，the emotional projectionofcolorand thecoordination between brushworkandcolor.On this basis，itanalyzes thecolorexpresionformsandvaluesofhispaintinglanguage.Therefore，thecolorexpresionpathsin Cezane's works—including independent form divorced fromfigurative imitation，pictorial structure based on geometricorder， andexpressivefunctioncarryingsubjective emotion—havenotonlypromotedthe development ofcolorlanguage inmoderoil painting，butalsoexertedaprofoundiflueneonlaterartistsinisuderstandingandapplicationofolorexpreioforms.
