Abstract：Troughthelassificationofosecoatcoloin"uowenjiei，tisaperfoussontheedlack，witell， greenandfivecolorsystems.This paper reveals thefine naming logicof theancients based oncoatcolorandlocalfeatures by analyzingtherepresentativehorse namessuchas"coat""horse""Locke"horse"andtheirliteratureprovenane.Itisconcluded thatallkindsofhorsesareendowedwithuniqueculturalsymbols：redrelatedheroYongwu，blackembodiesetiquete，white symbolizes auspiciousness and holines，yellowcarries power and destiny，andcyan ismetaphorical literati Qingyi.hese clasificationsotonlyflectheigorofcientzoologicalobservation，butalsoconstructacompletesetofsymbolicgition through the interaction between color and etiquette， literature and philosophy.
