Abstract:As acrucialvisual communication medium in early People's Republicof China,propaganda posters featuring industrialandagricultural themes conveyed nationalpolicies and socialvalues through theiruniquecolorsymbolsystems.This paperexaminesrepresentativeindustrialandagriculturalpropagandapostersfromtheearlyPRCperiod,analyzngtheircolor usagecharacteristics throughcolorsemiotics theory.Focusing onindustrialandagriculturalthemed propaganda postersfromthis era,thisstudyconductsasemioticaalysisoftheircolorusage torevealtheirculturalconnotationsandtemporalcharacteristics. Theresearch findsthatthese colorsymbols embodied distinct politicalideals and modernizationaspirations,eflecting the massaestheticcharacteristicsofearlyPRCpropaganda posters,providingvaluableartisticexperienceforcontemporaryvisual communication design.
