Abstract：AsanimportantpartoftheHVDCtransmissionsystem，thesafeoperationofconverterstationsisdirectlyrelated tothestabilityofthepowersystem.Inthefireprotectionsystemofconverterstations，frequentactionsoffirepumpsmaylead toincreasedequipmentloss，afectthereliablityofthefireprotectionsystem，andeventreatenthesafeoperationoftheetire convertrstation.Basedontheactualcaseoffrequentactionoffirepumpsinconverterstations，thispaperinvestigatesthe causesoffrequentactionoffirepumpsinconverterstations，includingpoorpresurestabilizingefectofsurgetanks，leakageof pipelines，largeflowofsurgepumps，andunreasonablesetingvaluesofpressresignalswitches.Inresponsetothefirepump failureproblem，measuressuchasreplacingthestabilizertankcapsule，repairingpipelineleaks，adjustingthestabilizerpumpto PLCcontrol，andoptiizingthepresuresignalswichetingswereproposedtofectivelyimprovethereliabilityandstabilityof the fire protection system.
