Abstract:TheLPSO phase cansubstantiallyimprove themechanicalpropertiesofallys.Inthispaper,thestructural evolutionoftheLPSOphaseunderelectronbeamirradiatonisivestigtedinsituusingsphericalaberrtion-correcedscaning transmissionelectronmicroscopyThereisastructuralamorphoustransitionandatomicreconstructionduringthetransformation process.Withtheincreaseof thenumberof blocks,theLPSOphaseshowsselectivestructural transformation.Inadition,the potentialmechanismofthestructuraltransformationoftheLPSOphaseinducedbyelectronbeamirradiationwasexplored.This study provides a new way to modulate the structure and properties of Mg-M-RE alloys.
