Abstract:Inorder toreducethe excavationresistance encountered duringthedigging,shovelingandlooseningofsoilduring garlic harvestingand improvetheoperational eficiencyof thegarlic harvester,an adjustable excavation device was designed inthis study.The device is composedofashovelblade,anangle adjusting plate,afixed plate andadigging depthadjusting plate.The structuralparametersof the shovelare determinedby theoretical analysisand numerical calculation.The designed excavating device can adjust the angle of digging shovel to 15∘ , 20∘ , 25∘ by the angle adjusting plate,and adjust the depth of digging to 80-110mm by the depth adjusting plate.A discrete element simulation model of excavation shovel-soil Was established inEDEM software.Theexcavationmechanism wasanalyzed bysoil particlevelocityvectordiagramand excavation resistance statistics,and the influence of variable factors on excavation resistance was explored.The BoxBehnkenorthogonalcombinationtestwiththreefactorsandthree levelswascariedoutwiththeangle,depthandadvance speed ofthediging shovelas the influencing factors,andtheforwardresistanceof thediggingshovelasthetestindex.The simulation model wasanalyzed and solved by Design—Expert,and theoptimal parametercombinationofthedigging shovel structure was obtained as follows:the angle of penetration is 21.77∘ ,thedepth ofpenetration is 90.72mm ,the advance speed is 0.39m/s ,and the advance resistance is 1002N . The working resistance of the optimal parameter is 998.6N by EDEM simulation test,which is basically consistent with the optimization result.
