Exploration of the Resource Recovery and Circular Utilization Model for Waste Hydroprocessing Catalysts in Refining

Abstract: Taking Sinopec Catalyst Co.,Ltd.(referred toas Catalyst Company)asan example,this studyexplores thecompany'sinnovations inwastehydrotreatingcatalystrecycling.Firstly,itinvestigatesagreenrecyclingmodel formolybdenumtrioxide toachieveeficientresourceutilization.Secondly,regarding therecoveryprocess,technical optimization solutions are proposed for disposal enterprises.Byadopting ion exchangeand solvent extraction methods, complete separation of vanadium and molybdenum is realized.During extraction,precise pH control of molybdenumcontaining adsorption tail liquid significantly enhances productrecovery eficiencyand purity.Meanwhile,technical guidanceisprovidedtoensureefectiveexhaustgastreatment,accomplishingthe“zero-waste”environmentalobjective. Finally,theformulationandupgradingof wastecatalystrecycling standards providescientificsupportforfullife cycle managementof catalysts whilereducing compliance costs.These initiatives notonlydecrease catalyst procurementcosts butalsoenhancethe technical capabilitiesof disposal enterprises,offering newperspectives for promoting sustainable development in the petrochemical industry.
