[Abstract] Objective： To explore the effect of Dahuang acupoint application combined with modified Liumo Decoction in the treatment ofchronic constipation of Qi stagnation type.Method： A total of 90 patients with chronic constipation of Qi stagnation type admited to Xinyu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January to December 2O24 were selected and divided into the control group （45 cases，treated with conventional western medicie） andthe observation group （45 cases，treated with Dahuang acupoint application combined with modified Liumo Decoction）according to the random number table method.The therapeutic effects，traditional Chinese medicie syndrome scores，chronic constipation severity scores （CSS），adverse reactions rates and recurrence rates of the two groups were compared.Result：After 4 weeksof treatment，the individual and total scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes scores and CSS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group （ P <0.05）.The total efective rate of theobservation group was higher than that of thecontrol group，and the total incidence of adverse reactions and recurrence rates after3months offolow-up were both lower thanthose of the control group （ P <0.05）. Conclusion： The combination of Dahuang acupoint application and modified Liumo Decoction has abetertherapeutic efect on chronic constipation of Qi stagnation type.It can reduce the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score，aleviate the severityof constipation，and lowerthe incidence of adverse reactions and recurrence rate.
