Abstract：Thekinshipsystemconstitutesavitalcomponentof humansocieties.Through familialitles，onecandiscemasocietyshistoryustoms，culture，andideologyBothChinaandItalyposessancientcivilizationsandsharesimilarfamilyvaues，bt theirkinshipsystemsexhibitsignificantdiferences.ThispapercomparescommonkinshiptermsinChineseandItalianbasedon Murdock'sclasificationsystemandKroeberseight principles.Itrevealsthat Chinese kinshiptermsarenumerousandfinelycategorized，whileIaianshpsareewerinumber.alanoreinshipesreanced，utlateralinsipesreghly generalized，lacingistinctiosetwepatealndmateallinagoder，andbodvessaiityelatiosipsKeacto contributingtotesedierencesiudedistictlifestyles，teifuenceofpatriarchalethicsandsocialmovements，andulaltra ditions.Studyingkinshipteinologtoanalyecrossculturalcharacteristicsfostersutualundestandingandadvanesiteultual communication.
