Abstract：TheTurnoftheScrewisoneofHenryJames'classc novels.Thispaperinterprets theprofoundthemesofthis Gothic masterpiecethrough Professor Shen Dan’s "dualnarative procss"theoryfrom Peking University.Thestudyrevealsthatwhilethe overtnarrativedpictsgovesatlinggots toprotctiontcdenaqutesstialGotictaleeundelingaie weavestogethrpsyhologicalfsures，sbliclassmarkrs，andmentaldistortios toostrctadeprarratieofpyolgical represionandsocialdiscipline.Byanalyzing teonstructionandcollpseoftegoverssnarrativeathoritythesenceof ghosts as psychologicalprojections，andtheVictorian-eraclassandmoralnormsdrivingthesedynamics，thepaperultimateldeostrates thatthetruehororinJames‘workstemsnotfromsupernaturalentities，butfromthelife-eroding"screw"formedbytheinterplayof inner psychological obsession and external social discipline.
