Discussion on the Rules of Promoting Pronunciation of “Numeral + Auxiliary Word” in Japanese// XU Wenxiao

Abstract：Thispaper investigatesindepththephenomenonofsokuon（gemination）inJapanesenumeral-clasifiercombinations，nalyzingitsphonologicalrulesandinfluencingfactors.BasedontheNHKJapanesePronunciationandAccentNewDictionary（2016）， thestudyfocusesonclasifiersbegiingwithvoicelessinitialconsonantsandexaminstherulesofsokuoninsertionhencobined withthenumerals“1，6，8，ndO.”eresearhfindstatsokuonisjntlyifluencedbythephonticfeatursofcaifs，tr etymology，aswellasthecharactercountandmoracount（phonologicalunits）ofcorrespondingChineseclassfiers.Through systematicanalysis，thispaperfiestherulesofsokuoninnumeral-clasifiercombinationsandprovidesnewinsightsforsearchin Japanese phonology.
