Abstract：Withtherapiddevelopmentofinformationtechnology，thelocalareanetwork（LAN）hasbecomeanimportant networkifrastructureforthedailyoperationsofenterprises，schools，govermmentsandotherunits.However，theincreasingly prominentcomputernetworksecurityproblemsandthecontinuousrenovationofatack methodsintheLANenvironmenthave madenetwork securityprotectiontechnologyfaceseverechallnges.Thispaperstudiesthecomputernetworksecurityprotection technologyintheLANenvironmentanddiscusssthesecuritythreatsandprotectionstrategiesoftheLANfocusingonaalying intrusiondetectionsystems.Bycomparingtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofdiferentprotectiontechnologies，alocalarea networksecurityprotectionframeworkbasedonultipleprotectionstrategiesisproposed，whichprovidesacertainteorecal basis for improving the overall security of the local area network.
