Abstract:Withthedevelopmentofurbanconstruction,softsoil foundationsareusedmoreandmore,andshallwplateload testsarewidelyusedinfoundationbearingcapacitytesting.TakingafactoryprojectinLonghuaDistrict,ShenzhenCityasan example,thispaperusesMohr-CoulombModelandPlaxis3Dsoftwaretostudytheimpactofgroundwateronshallowplateload tests.Experimentsandnumericalsimulationswerecarredouton9testsectionsbysetingthreeworking conditions:zero precipitation,mprecipitation,and1.5mprecipitationWhenthereisnoprecipitation,groundwaterreducesthebearingapacity ofthe foundation soil to about half of the design value;after 1m of precipitation,the bearing capacity is increased but some pointsstillfailtomeetthestandard;after1.5mprecipitationandincreasingtheelasticmodulusofthewater-freeresidualsoil layer,thebearingcapacitybasicallymetsthedesignrequirements.Atthesametie,itwasfoundthatprecipitationcanimprove thebearing propertiesofsoil,buttheloadingtimeislongandthedisplacementislargewhenprecipitationis1m,andthe loadingtimeisgreatlyshortenedwenprecipitationis1.5m.Thestudyalsoverfedthereliabilityofthenumericalsiulation method,and recommended that the groundwater level should be lowered by 1.5m and stayed static for more than 7 days before thetest.Thisstudycanprovideareliablebasisforengineringdesign,reduceengineringrisks,andensurethesafetyand stability of the construction project.
