Abstract:ThispaperfocusesontheintersectionofWestAningRoadandYintanRoadinLanzhou,investigatingand analyzingitstraffcconditionsandexistingproblemsandproposingimprovementsthroughoptimizationdesign.Thestudybegins withfieldinvestigatiosanddataanalsistoidentifyeurrentstatusoftheintesetion,icludingtraficchanelizationdesign, signalcontrol methods,andtraffcflowcharacterisics.Theresultsshowthattheintersectionmainlyfacesproblemssuchas serioustraffcdelaysduringpeakhoursinsuficienttraveltimeforU-turnandleft-turnvehicles,andsignificantinterference fromthemixedtraffcofnon-motorvehiclesandpedestrians.Subsequently,basedonVISIMsimulationsoftwarethetraffic operationstatusoftheintersectionwasquantitativelyevaluated,andindicatorssuchasparkingtimes,delays,andmaximum queuelengthwereselectedforanalysis.Itwasfoundthatthetraffcdelaysintheleft-turnandU-tumlanesattheeast entranceweresignificantlyhigherthanthoseinotherlanes.Inordertoimprovethetraffccapacityandservicelevelof intersections,thispaperproposesoptimizationplansstartingfromaspectssuchastraffcchanelzaionimprovement,pedestrian crossingmanagementandsuroundingtraffcorganization.Byoptimizingthedesign,conflictpointscanbeefectivelyreduced, delayscanbereduced,andtraffceficiencycanbeimproved.Thisstudynotonlyprovidesscientficbasisfortraffic managementattheintersectionof WestAningRoadandYintanRoadinLanzhouCitybutalsohasimportantreferencevalue forthe optimal design of similar urban road intersections.
