Clinical efficacy of low-frequency neuromuscular electrical stimulation combined with robot-assisted rehabilitation training in hemiplegic patients after cerebral infarction

AbstractObjective:Toexploretheclinical effcacyoflow-frequencyneuromuscularelectricalstimulation(NMES)combined with robot-astedrhabiltationtraiinginreatinghemiplegiaaftercerebralifarction.Methods:06hmiplegicpatientshoweereated atWujinHospitalofTCMfromMarch2O21toJanuaryO24wereenroled.Theywererandomlydividedintotheobservationgroup(n53) and the control group n =53) using computer-generated randomization.Thecontrol group received low-frequency NMES alone, while the observationgroupreceivedadditionalrobot-assistedrehablitationtrainingbasedonlow-frequencyNMES.Outcomesincludedmuscle tone,posturalabilityalcfuctioupprorlborctio(ug-eyerssssmtfoUpperowerEresE/ LE),andmaximumM-wave/H-waveamplitudes.Results:Aftertreatment,theModifiedAshworthSale(AS)scoresintetwogoups werebothdecreasedcomparedtothosebeforetreatment,withagreaterreductionintheobservationgroupthanthecontrolgroup( P <0.05). Theareaofcnterofgavityovement,lengthofenterofgavityovement,ompetiontieoftesting,ndaveagetrajetoyin both groups decreased,which were smaller in the observation group than the control group ( P <0.05).After treatment, the scoresof FMAUE,FMA-LE,and walking balancefunction intheobservation group were allhigher than those inthecontrol group( P <0.05). Maximum M-wave (Mmax)and H-wave(Hmax)amplitudes inlimbs decreased after treatment,with lower values intheobservation group( P <0.05). Conclusion:CombinnglowfrequencyNMESwithbot-assstedreabilitationtrainingcanefectielyeducemuscletonemproeotor coordinationand balance,and enhance limb motor function recovery in hemiplegic patients aftercerebralinfarction.
