Effect of robot-assisted transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion on clinical outcomes and pain mediators in degenerative lumbar diseases

AbstractObjective：Toexploretheclinicaleficacyofrobot-assstedtransforaminallumbarinterbodyfusion（LIF）anditsimpact onpain mediators inpatients withdegenerativelumbardiseases.Methods：A prospectiveanalysis wasconductedonOOpatintswith degenerativelumbardiseaseswhoweretreatedatBaoji Central Hospitalfrom September2O23toOctober2O24.Basedondierent surgicalaproaches，selectedpatientseredividedintothecontrolgroup（n=5O，receivingtraditionaloenTLIF）andthestudygoup （ n =50，receivingbsiste）.eoeaiecatos，calcyindcs，lvelsofino， andpostoperativecomplicationswerecomparedbetweenthetwo groupsofpatients.Results：Thestudygroupshowedsignificantly beterperioperativeoutcomes，includingreducedintraoerativeblodlossandpostoperativedranagevolume，shorteroperativetie， postoperative drainage duration，bedrest time，and length of hospital stay compared to the control group （P<0.05） . The study group also had higher excellent/good rate（ P <0.05）.Preoperative visual analogue scale （VAS）and Oswestry disability index （ODI） scores were comparable between the two groups （ Pγ 0.05）.Meanwhile，the study group showed lowerVASscoresat1，3，5，7，and 15 daysafter surgery （ P <0.05） andlowerODI scoresat3 days，1month，3 months，and6monthsafter surgery （ P<0.05） .No significant differencesin preoperative levels of pain mediators [substance P （SP）， prostaglandin E2 （PGE2）， β -endorphin （ β -EP）] were found between the two groups of patients （P>0.05） .However，at1and 3 days after surgery，the study group had lower PGE2 and β -EP levels but higher SP levels than the control group （P<0.05） . The study group also had alower overallcomplication rate and higher patient satisfaction than the control group （P<0.05 ） Conclusion：bstedeicalyeeateorycesaiise pain in patients with degenerative lumbar diseases.
