A Study on the Acquisition Process of the Negative Adverb "No" in Chinese Children

Abstract:Theearliestvocabularylearned byyoung childreniscaledbasic words,whicharedefinitelythemostcommonlyused wordsinChinese.Asoneof themostcommonlyused words,thenegativeadverb"no"canbeeasilypronouncedbyyoungchildren duringtheirbabblingstage.Theaimofthisarticleistoinvestigatehowyoungchildrengofromimitatingspeech tounderstandingsemanticsadmasteringtheprocessofusing thenegativeadverb"no".Basedonthelanguagedataofthenegativeadverb"no"from DongDong'sageof1yearand1monthto1yearand9months inEarlyYearsinLife:TheLanguageLogofaChineseGirl,hepro cessofchildren'sacqusitionoftisegativeadverbisdscribedinsegments,presentingitsacqusitioncharacteristicsfroagammaticalperspective.Whentheexpresionof"no"used bytheyoungchildDongdong iscompletelyconsistentwiththatofanadult, shefullyleasthenegativeadverb.Throughargumentation,itcanbeconcludedthatafterthreestagesoflearning,youngchildren can proficiently master the negative adverb "no" at around one year and nine months old.
