Abstract：Appreciation and evaluation of ornamental stones isacrucial link in theconstructionof theornamental stoneindustrysystem.Itsstandardizationandspecialization directlyafect thehealthydevelopmentof theornamental stone industry and the industrial development.Inorder toexplore thestandardizedand specialized work procedures， the paper systematicallysortsoutand comprehensivelystudies the practical casesofornamental stone appraisal，and dividestheoverall workflowof ornamental stone appraisal into threestages andfive keysteps.The three stages are the consultation stage，evaluationstage，aswellasdeliveryandarchiving stage.Thefivekeystepsareconsultationand preliminaryselection，agreementanddelegation，registrationandfiling，organizational evaluation，aswellasdelivery andarchiving.This workfowisreferredtoasthe“five-step”work procedure.Theresearchresults provide normalized， specialized，and standardized solutions for appraisal and evaluation of ornamental stones.
