Comparative Study on Physicochemical Properties and Quality Standards of Biodiesel and Petrochemical Diesel Oil

Abstract: This paper comprehensively discusses the similarities and differences between biodiesel and fossil diesel in terms of physical and chemical properties and quality standards. By comparing and analyzing the physicochemical properties of biodiesel and fossil diesel in terms of combustion performance, low-temperature f luidity, oxidative stability and corrosiveness, it reveals the advantages of biodiesel in the reduction of pollutant emissions and the utilization of renewable resources, and at the same time points out that the challenges of its high production cost and poor low-temperature fluidity have limited the large-scale promotion and application of biodiesel. Combined with the international quality standards (ASTM D6751, EN14214, GB/T20828—2017), it proposes solutions to reduce the production cost, optimize the low-temperature fluidity and improve the oxidative stability, which provides a scientific basis for the promotion and application of biodiesel.
