Abstract：Thispaperanalyzestheapplicationoffusesinhighandlowvoltagedistributioncircuits，includingdiscusingthe roleoffusesincurrentprotectiontosolvepossiblefaultsincircuitbreakers，largesystemshortcircuitcapacityleadingtocicuit breakerprotectionfailure，frequencyconverters，softstartersenerators，etc.ilureofteprotector.Teplanofinstalingfusesin frontoffrequencyconverters，softstartersandmotorprotectorsisdiscussdndtheselectionprinciplesarediscuseduses effectivelyprotectcircuitsandenhancesystemstabilitywiththeirabilitytoquicklycutoffshort-circuitcuentsespeciallin motorcircuits. This paper analyzes the current-limiting characteristics， I′t value，etc.of fuses and their advantages in distribution circuits，putsforwardthefailureproblemofcircuitbreakerscausedbyfaultsorlargesystemshort-circuitcapacityinshortcircuit protection，andanalyzestherelevantreasonsindepthWhenselectingmodels，weneedtocomprehensivelyconsiderthevoltage levelandexpectedshortcircuitcurrent，andnsurethatthefusetypematchstheaplicationscenario；inaditionaddingfuses cansimplifythetroubleshotingprocess.Incontrastcircuitbreakerfailuresandsystemsfacinglargeshort-circuitcapacity challnges often lead to failureof protection mechanisms.To sumup，fuses playanindispensableroleinsystem protection.
