Abstract:Thispaper proposesarecognition methodbasedonworkpieceshape featureencoding,whichachievesautomatic recognitionandclassfcationofworkpieceshapebyautomaticallygeneratinguniquefeaturecodes.Themethodisbasedon extractingcontourfeaturesfromworkpieceimagesandgenerating hashcodes.Themainprocessincludesimagesegmentation, conectedregionanalysis,contourlineextraction,polygonapproximation,contourtrajectoryparameterization,andfeaturehash coding.Byextracting contourcurvesfrom workpieceimagesandusing contourimagemomentsandcontourcurve trajectory parametersascontourfeaturesacording totherequirementsofworkpiecerecognition,anautomaticfeatureencodingretrieval indexwasestablishedfortheworkpiecedatabase,andahashfunctionwasused togeneratefeatureidentfiers.Thismethodcan effectivelyimprovethediscriminationandrecognitionrateoffeatures,soastoachievefastandaccuraterecognitionofworkpieces.
