Abstract：Thenew pepper cultivar Shenmei was bred bycrossingtheinbredlines X5M（female parent）and X2OF（male parent）.This Variety exhibits robust growthand a semi-erect plant habit，with anaverage plantheight of 60-70cm and an average canopywidth of 60-65cm Thefruitis lantern-shaped，with bright green immature fruit and bright red mature fruit. The fruit length is 18-20cm ，the transverse diameter is 5.6cm ，the average fruit wall thickness is 0.30cm ，and there arethree loculesper fruit.Theaverage single fruit mass is 90g ，averageyieldof 3145.9kg per 667m2 .Thevitamin C content is 90.36mg⋅100g-1 ，and the capsaicin content is 0.98% .In the field，it shows resistance to bacterial wilt，anthracnose， CMV，and TMV.
