Abstract:As the railway system is an important means of transportation,its energy consumption and emission problems are widely concerned.To solve the problems in terms of environment polution and noise impact of the current catenary maintenance cars,a solution of developing a catenary maintenance car based on hydrogen energy power system has been proposed. Guided by the standard requirements and the user demand indicators,a studyin depth has been carried out on the parameter matching of the power system of this car and the integration of the hydrogen fuel power system to form a design solution for the hydrogen powered catenary maintenance car. Through simulation and testing,the performance of the hydrogen powered catenary maintenancecar has been wholly assessed. According to the test results,this maintenance car can achieve“zero carbon emission” and low noise,effectively solving the problems of exhaust pollution and noise impact of conventional diesel cars;the maintenance car fully filledof hydrogen can operate continually for 32 hours to complete the operation during 6 window phases and reach at least 600km of comprehensive range;a single maintenance car can draw 74t and run at the max. speed of 80km/h ;and according to different traction demands,it can realize multiple power supply paterns such as hydrogen fuel power supply,lithium battery power supply, hybrid power supply as well as diffrent energy output strategies,complying with the demands of operationalconditions of the maintenance car. It marks a certain progress in the application of the hydrogen energy technology in Chinese railway engineering vehicles.
