Abstract:To improve the axial bearing capability of the original four-point contact ball bearing so that it can meet the requirement of the wheelset for adjustable gauge for axle-end force transmisson,at the same time considering the action of centrifugal force,the MATLAB is used to build a model to calculate the ultimate axial loadof the ball bearing more in line with the actual working conditions.Thecorrectnessof the model is verified by comparing with Romax,based on the calculation model,the impactof thecentrifugal force and the structure parameters of the ballbearingon its ultimate bearing capability is studied,and the variance analysis is made for its structure parameters in order to improve the axial bearing capability of the ballbearing. According to the study results,thecentrifugal force willweaken the axial bearing capabilityof the inner ring while enhancing the axial bearing capability of the outer ring and this influence is more significant at higher rotate speed;The axial bearing capabilityof the inner ring of ball bearing increases with the increase of the diameter of inner flange, the curvature radiiof inner and outer grooves,the number of steel balls and the pitch diameter and decreases with the increase of the diameter of steel ball and the initial contact angle,while the diameter of outer flange has no influence on it;The diameter of inner flange has the greatest influence on the axial bearing capability of the inner ring of ball bearing,so the axial bearing capability is significantly increased by adjusting the diameter of inner flange,which meets the requirement of the axial-end force transmission.The study results can provide a reference for optimizing the design of the ball bearing at the axle end of the wheelset for adjustable gauge.
