Abstract：The modular design is a design method widely adopted in the rail transit industry and is significant for improving the R&D eficiency，shortening the production period and guaranteeng the product quality.This article describes the modular design concept and the study progress in the rail transit braking field. Based on the modular design concept，it expounds the application practice of the modular design of CABB locomotive brake system in terms of module division，module pre-grouping and module test and discusses the advantages of applying the modular design in the brake system.

模块化设计是指将产品的某些要素组合在一起，构成一些具有特定功能的模块，将这些模块作为通用性的模块与其他产品要素进行多种组合，构成新的系统，产生多种不同功能或相同功能、不同性能的系列模块化产品的设计方法[1-2]。（剩余7478字）
