Effect of "Xingnao Kaiqiao" Acupuncture Method on Painand Lumbar Function in Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation Accompanied by Sciatica/HUANG Zhiqi， YANG Shuangsheng.//Medical Innovation of China，2025，22（25）： 027-030

[Abstract]Objective： To explore the application efect of the "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture method in patients with lumbar disc herniation （LDH）accompanied by sciatica.Method： A total of 1OO patients with LDH accompanied by sciatica who were treated in the Third People's Hospital of Pingxiang from January 2022 to December 2O24 were included and divided into two groups by random number table method.The control group （ n =50）wastreated with conventional acupuncture，while the observation group （n=5O）was treated with the "Xingnao Kaiqiao"acupuncture method.Both groups were treated continuously for 5d.The therapeutic effects，pain degrees， lumbar function and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the two groups were compared. Result： The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group （ P <0.05）. After 5 dof treatment，the scores of the lumbar vertebra Japanese Orthopaedic Association （JOA）in both groups increased， andtheincreases were more significant inthe observation group，the VAS，Oswestry disability index （ODI） scores， and traditional Chinese medicinesyndrome scores all decreased，and the decreases were more significant in the observation group （ P <0.05）.There were no obvious adverse reactions in both groups. Conclusion： Compared with conventional acupuncture treatment，the "Xingnao Kaiqiao"acupuncture method can effctively inhibit the inflammatory response inpatients with LDHaccompaniedbysciatica，reduce the levels of pain factors，relieve pain and improve lumbarfunction.It canprovideasafe treatment method for the clinical treatment of patients with LDH accompanied by sciatica.
