[Abstract] Objective： To investigate the effects of Yaobitong Capsules combined with radiofrequency ablation on limb function，serum transforming growth factor- β1 （TGF- levels in patients with lumbar disc herniation.Method：A total of1OO patients with lumbardisc herniation admited to Huizhou Hospital，Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from October 2O21 to August 2024 were divided into two groups according to the random number method. The control group （ n =50）was treated with radiofrequency ablation，and the study group （ n =50） was treated with Yaobitong Capsuleson the basis of the control group.The clinical eficacy，inflammatory factor levels，pain degree，limb function and adverse events were compared between thetwo groups.Result： The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group（ P <0.05）. There were no significant differences in the scores of Roland-Morris disability questionnaire （RMDQ）and Oswestry disability index （ODI） between the two groups before surgery and 14 days after surgery （ P; >0.05）. The scores of RMDQ and ODI in the study group were lower than those in the control group 3O days after surgery （ P <0.05）. There was no statistical significance difference in the levels of TGF- β1 between the two groups before surgery （ P. >0.05）. The levels of TGF- β1 in the study group were lower than those in the control group 14 and 3O days after surgery （ P <0.05）. There was no statistically significant differences in VAS scores between the two groups before surgery （ P⋅ >0.05）. The VASscores of the study group 14 and 30 days after surgery were lower than those of the control group （ P <0.05）. There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse events between the two groups （ P> 0.05）.

Conclusion： Yaopitong Capsules combined with radiofrequency ablation can improve the inflammatory response， pain degree and limb function of patients with lumbar disc herniation，and has high safety.
