Abstract: Displaced left-turn (DLT) represents the most efficacious and pioneering intersection design, resolving the conflict between left turns and opposite straight traffic. In this paper,the design of T-shaped intersections based on displaced left-turn is implemented,and the optimization model of intersection parameters is established to minimize the average vehicle delayattheintersection. Theoperational performance of the T-shaped intersection based on the displaced left-turn design isverified through VISSIM simulation. The resultsindicatethattheaveragevehicledelayofthe T-intersectionbased onthe displacedleft-turn design is significantly reduced,and the intersection performance is substantially enhanced. The sensitivity test of the T-shaped displacedleft-turn intersection isdesigned to analyze its optimal application scenario.
