Abstract：Thispaperdiscuses theGenericverb“Gao（搞）”inmodern Chinese，clarifying itssemanticitemsand highlightingthe polysemyandambiguityiherentinitsmeaning.ApplyingConeptualIntegrationTheory，itexplainstheextensionmechanismsofthe “Gao + NP”construction，includinginstance，schema，metaphorical，andetonymicintegrations，eflectingthedynamicnatueofits development. The paper also analyzes the Semantic realization of“ Gao”.
