Abstract:Petroleumgeologyisahighlyspecializeddiscipline,weretheacuracyof terminologytranslationdirectlyinfluencesthe disseminationofresarchfindingsandtheeficiencyof international technicalcommunication.Giventhepolysemousnatureof many terms,coupledwiththesignificantstuctualandstylisticdiferencesetweenCneseandEnglish,translationoftenencouesallengessuchasmanticigittacticofusiondstadadepresi.Inesponseteus,tispproutiskey translationprciples,alyscommonproblemsndproposscontex-sensitivestategiesiedatfngtraslationalitltimately,iprovingtetranslationofpetrolemgeologicalterinologquisotolylinguisticompetenebutalsoapreiseaspof domain-specificmeaningsandacomprehensiveunderstandingofcontextualusage,soastoensurebothtechnicalaccuracyandclarity of expression.
