Abstract：Thereviewofreservoirfloodcontrolcapacityisakeypartofreservoirdamsafetyasessmentandiscrucial to ensuringthesafetyofreservoiroperation.Inviewofthecurentsituationthatthereisnomeasuredhydrologicaldatainthe GanlongRiverBasinwhereLaoyingtangReservoirisocated，basedonthemeasuredmeteorologicalandhydrologicaldatafrom thenearbyYanheMeteorologicalStationandGanlongRainfallStation，therainwaterandflodmethodisusedtocalculatethe designfloodatthedamsite，andcombinedwiththereservoirfloodcontroldata，thereservoirsflodcontrolcapacityis demonstratedandreviewed intermsofdamcrestelevation，flooddischargecapacity，downstreamriverimpactandsediment deposition.Theresultsshowthatthefloodcontrolcapacityofthereservoirmetstherequirementsofthedesigncode，andthe floodcontrolsafetyofthedamisratedasLevelA.Theresearchresultscanprovidedatasupportforthesafeoperationof reservoirsandtheformulationoffloodcontrolstrategies，andcanalsoprovidereferencefortheplaningandconstructionof reservoirs in mountainous areas.

水库是农业灌溉和人畜安全饮水重要的水资源存蓄与调洪载体，二十世纪六七十年代修建的水库工程经历长时间运行后，由于泥沙淤积、洪水冲刷等原因造成防洪能力下降、功能效益衰退，因此，需要定期对水库防洪能力进行安全复核，以确保水库安全稳定运行[1-2]。（剩余5691字）
