Abstract: Compounding cerium oxide (ceO2) with carbon is an effective means to optimize the chemical environment around catalyticactivesites.Inthispaper,theefectofSmelementcontentonthecatalyticactivityofcarbon-cerumoxidecomposie 1 CeO2/C )wasinvestigated. The results showed that the space-time yield of the 3% Sm-CeO/C catalyst was ashigh as 4.06 mmol/gcat at a pressure of 6.9MPa and a temperature of 140‰ for 2 hours.Combined with material characterization,it was foundthatSmdopingcouldinducethegenerationofoxygenvacancies(O.)inthecatalyst,furterimprovingtheactivityof the catalyst.
