Application of robot-assisted subcutaneous intermuscular screw placement technique in minimally invasive treatment for scoliosis

AbstractObjective:Toevaluatethefeasibilityofrobot-asistedsubcutaneous intermusularpediclescretechnique(RA-SSfor minimallyinvasivetreatmentofsoliosis.Methods:Aretrospectiveanalysiswasconductedon14scoliosispatientshounderentRASIPSTattheDepartmentofOrthopedics,theFirstAflatedHospitalofChinaMedicalUniversityfromAugust218toDeceber021. Screw placementaccuracywasasessedusing3DC-armimaging,withcorectionoutcomesandscrew-relatedcomplicationsrecorded during follow-up(13-24 months).Results:Of 207 guidewires inserted,199 were succeful,with asuccessateof 96.14% . All 178 pedicle screws placed based on guidewires achieved 100% accuracy. The Cobb angle of the major curve improved from (67.38±26.11)∘ preoperatively to (26.54±11.69)∘ postoperatively,with the correction rate of (60.37±8.96)% .No screw-related complications were observed.Conclusion:RA-STisafeasibleminimallinvasiveappoach forscoliosiscorection,hichprovidesanovative technological option for precise minimally invasive treatment of scoliosis.
