Effects of replacingpartial chemical fertilizerswith green manure straw on the yield and quality of pepper

Abstract:Thisstudyfocuses ontheissueof decreasedcropqualitycaused byexcessiveapplicationofchemical fertilizersinthechilipepperindustryinYunnan,andiscommitedtoexploringasientificandreasonablecombinedapplication schemeofchemical fertilizers toenhance the yieldandqualityofchili pepper.Taking thecommonlyusedErjingtiao chili pepper inthe Yunnan marketasthe testobject,diferent proportionsof green manure strawtreatmentwithchemical fertilizer application and a control treatment(CK)with 100% chemical fertilizer were set up to ensure a constant total amount ofnitrogen,phosphorus and potassumnutrients ineach treatmentplot.During the maturityandcritical growth stagesof chili pepper,keyindicatorssuchasyield,chlorophyllontent,fruit mopologyutrientcomponents,ndnitrateotet weremeasured.Theresultsshowed thatcomparedwiththecontroltreatment(CK),combiningchemical fertilizerwith 30% green manure straws significantly increased pepper yield by 22.29% ,significantly increased chlorophyll content during the fruiting period by 7.47% ,and improved pepper fruit morphology to better meet market demands.In terms of fruit quality,the content of nutrients such as nitrogen,phosphorus,proteinand vitamin C significantly increased by 5.63% , 9.48% 9.96% and 25.96% ,respectively,while the harmful substance nitrate significantly decreased by 20.5% . The combinedapplicationofchemical fertilizers and green manure straws cannotonly significantly increase the yieldofchili pepper,butalso improve fruit morphology,enhance nutrientcompositionand reduce thecontent of harmful substances. Among them, 70% chemical fertilizers +30% green manure(SF3 treatment)has the best effects,providing a scientific basis forthereductionofchemical fertilizerapplicationinchilipeppercultivationin Yunnanandhelping topromote the sus tainable development of thechili pepper industry.
