Spatio-temporal evolution of late blight resistance of potato variety in mountainous areas

Abstract: Potato cultivation has a significantcomparative advantage in the economic development of mountainous areas inChina.However,lateblightcausedbyPhytophthorainfestansseverelyrestrictsthedevelopmentofpotatoindustrialization.ToclarifythediseaseresistanceofmajorpotatovarietiesinEnshiregion,resistanceidentificationandstabilityevaluation wereconducted overtwo years andthree locations in field disease nurseries.Theresistance levels of10 potato varieties tolate blight was determined:FavoritaandXisenNo.6werehighlysusceptible,ZhongshuNo.5wassusceptible, MiraandE-malingshu No.12 were moderatelysusceptible,E-malingshuNo.1 was moderatelyresistant, Qingshu No.9 andE-malingshuNo.5wereresistant,whileE-malingshuNo.13andE-malingshuNo.14 werehighlyresistant.The severityof disease incidence showedahighlysignificant negativecorelation with yield.Among thevarieties,E-malingshuNo.13hadtheadvantagesof highresistancestabilitystrongenvironmental adaptabilityandhigh yield index. Meanwhile,potatolateblightcriteriawereusedtoidentifythehost,andthedominantPhytophthorainfestansspeciesin different areasofEnshi was selected asracel,3,4,6,7,8,10.Theresearchresults provideafoundation forpromotingpotato variety applicationand late blight control in this region.
