Research on the Effectiveness of Scenario Simulation Course in Enhancing Clinical Decision-Making Abilities of Medical Students

Abstract: Objective To explore the efectiveness of the“trap-based” scenario simulation course in improving clinicaldecision-making abilities of medical students.MethodsA total of116 ClinicalMedical students practicing in the Emergency Department of Afliated Hospital of Jiaxing University from March 2024 to February 2O25 were enroled and randomly divided into the experimental group (58 students)and the control group (58 students). The experimental group received“trap-based”scenario simulation teaching,while the control group underwent traditional clinical training. Teaching outcomes were evaluated using theoretical assessments, practical assessments (Mini-CEX evaluation scale), and satisfaction surveys. Results The experimental group demonstrated significantly higher theoretical scores and practical scores compared with the control group ( P<0.05 ). Additionally,the experimental group showed improved diagnostic accuracy,clinical decision-making accuracy,and error identification rates (all P<0.05 ). Satisfaction surveys indicated superior outcomes for the experimental group in learming interest,course design,knowledge retention,and clinical decision-making skill development (all P<0.05 ).Conclusion The“trap-based”scenario simulation course effctively enhances medical students’clinical decision-making abilities by exposing cognitive biases, providing immediate feedback,and facilitating reflective reconstruction. It also improves teaching satisfaction and isworthyof broader implementation.
