AbstractThisarticlereviewed thestructural characteristics,skincareeffcts,and strategies for molecular agricultural expressionof acidic fibroblast growth factor(aFGF).Thefunctional domains of aFGFcanbedivided into the heparin-binding region,receptor-binding region and nuclear translocation region.In the fieldof skin care,aFGF has multiple biological functions such as promotingangiogenesis,accelerating skin injury repair,inhibiting scar formation and delaying skinaging.Currently,aFGF has been expressed in various expressonsystems including Escherichiacoli, Pichia pastoris,insect cels,mammaliancellsand plants,each with itsownadvantages and disadvantages.Theuseof molecular agriculture to expresscytokines such as aFGF has significant advantages such as being free of endotoxins,no pathogencontamination,and low production costs.Peptides that can penetrate cels,such as transdermal peptide1 (TD1),can asist in the penetration of biological macromolecules through the skin barrer.Byfusing aFGF with cellpenetrating peptidesand constructingarecombinant protein,the transdermal eficiency of aFGFcan be significantly enhanced.Arabidopsis thaliana hasa high genetic transformation eficiencyanda short growth cycle,making itan effctive expression system for preparing fusion proteins. Using Arabidopsis thaliana as the expression system to prepare thefusion protein can provide an efective way to develop plant-based skin care ingredients containing aFGF.This articleexplores the feasibilityofthestrategyofusing theTDP1-aFGFfusion protein,which combines theexpresionofArabidopsis thaliana with the cell-penetrating peptide TDP1 of the TD1 mutant type.This provides a reference for enhancing the transdermal ability of aFGFand expanding the application of molecular agriculture.
