Analysis of ecological environment changes characteristics in the Zuli River Basin based on theremote sensing ecological index

AbstractUsing Landsat series satelite imagery data,this study constructed a remote sensing ecological index (RSEI) by integrating remote sensing indicators including greenness,wetness,dryness,and salinity toanalyzethe spatiotemporalevolutionandspatial heterogeneitycharacteristics of theecological environment intheZuli RiverBasin from 2001to 2O21.Theresultsof principal componentanalysis showed thatthe variancecontributionrates of the first principalcomponentforthefouricators(geess,wetss,ss,ndsinity)ino,14dall exceeded 8O%,indicating that th first principal component efectivelycaptured mostof the characteristic information of these indicators throughoutthe study period.The results demonstrated that the mean RSEIvalues in the basin were 0.316,0.307,.468,and0.662in2001,2007,2014,and2021respectivelyexhbitingatrendof initialdeclinefollowed byanincrease.During the research period,thearea with“good”ecological environment qualitygrade gradually expanded, accounting for 96.75% of the total basin area in 2O21, while the“poor” grade area progressively decreased. Spatially,regionswith“excellent”ecological quality wereprimarily distributed inrivervalleysandupstream mountainous areas in the southwestern partofthe basin,whereasareas with inferior ecological conditions were mainly concentrated in northern mountainous regions.In conclusion,the Zuli River Basin hasachieved significant improvement in overallecological environment qualityduringthe study period.This study provides areference for furtheroptimizingecological environment protection strategies in the area.
