AbstractThis article summarized the breeding process,characteristics,and high yield cultivation techniques of Wankenjing No.9.This varietywas based on Wuyunjing No.27 as the female parent and JN29 as the male parent,and was independently bred using the line breeding method for japonica rice.It was approved byAnhui Provincial Crop VarietyExamination & Approval Commitee in 2024 (Wanshendao 2024TO07).The plantheight and growth period of this variety are suitable;the ricequality meets the second-classedible rice standardofNY/T 593-2021“Qualityof Edible Rice Variety";good anti overturning ability; the average yield of the 2- year regional trial is 9850.5kg/hm2 The keycultivation techniques include timely sowing (wet seedling cultivation from May5-15,machine transplanting from May15-25),soaking seeds with pesticides to prevent seed borne diseases,and applying“mariage medicine”before transplanting to enhance plant resistance;reasonably plant densely to ensure that the basicnumber of seedlings is betwee 90o OOOand1.62 million plantsper hectare.Scientific fertilizer and water management,with a nitrogen phosphorus potassium ratio of ，and water management using shallow water to promote tillering,suficient seedling sundrying tocontroltillring,waterretentionduring the bootingandflowering period,and wetdryalternation irigation in the later stage; comprehensive preventionand control of pestsand diseases,using seed disinfection, agricultural measures,and chemicalcontrol,withafocus onpreventing and controling ricethrips,borers,planthoppers, andriceblast disease.Grass damageis treated withacombination of sealingand stemand leaf treatment to ensure high yields. This article provides a reference for the promotion and planting of this variety.
