Effects of fertilizer application position and fertilizer application amount on the growth ofEucalyptusrobusta

AbstractTooptimize thefertilization techniqueforEucalyptus robustaand enhance theeficiencyoffertilizer nutrientutilizationand growth performance,this studyconducted atwo-factor experimentto investigate the ffects of diffrent fertilizationpositions (3Ocmaboveand 3Ocm below theplant,namelyEandFtreatments)anddiferent application amounts offertilizer(K,A,B,and Ctreatments with aplicationamountsof O,0.50,O.75,and1.00 kg per plantrespectively)onthe growthofEucalyptus robusta.Thechestdiameter,tree height,single treevolume,andunitarea volumeof eucalyptus trees in each treatment were observed continuouslyfor 5 years.Theresults showed that the diameter atbreast height,tree height,and single-tree volume of 5- year-old Eucalyptusrobusta fertilizedbelowtheplant were 6.8% , 6.4% ,and 12.7% higher than those fertilized above the plant, respectively.As the application amount of fertilizer increased,thegrowthofEucalyptus robustashowedan increasing trend.The5-year-old single-tree volume in theC treatment was the largest (0.107m3 ),whichwas 59.7% higher than thatof theK treatment.However,thedifference in tree growth between the B treatment and the C treatment was only 10.3% ,and the former had a higher nutrient utilizatio effciency.Insummary,itisrecommendedtousethecombinationofbotom-rowfertilizationundertheplant and O.75 kg/plant fertilizer.The 5-year-old single-tree volume reached 0.120m3 ,and the unit area volume was (2 153.5m3/hm2 . This study provides a reference for precise fertilization of Eucalyptus robusta.
