AbstractTo investigate the effectsof diferent herbicides onsoilnitrificationandtheresponses of different types of soil toherbicides,thisstudyselected2typesofsoil (calcareous loamanddryredsoil),3diffrent herbicides (acetochlor, fenoxaprop-P-ethyl,and 2,4 -D butyl ester),and conducted an indoor cultivation experiment. A control group (applying urea alone)and three aditional treatment groups (applying 10 mg/kg ofeach herbicide on the basis of thecontrol) weresetup.Theresults showed thatthere were significant differences inthe inhibitory effectsof three herbicides on the nitrification of two soils under the same application amount.For the calcareous fluvo-aquic soil, 2,4- D butylesterandfenoxaprop-P-ethyl slightly inhibited soil nitrficationactivity,whileacetochlorshowednoobvious effect. In the upland red soil, 2,4 -Dbutyl ester significantly inhibits nitrification ( P <0.05), followed by fenoxaprop-Pethyl,and acetochlor still had no obvious effect. In summary, 2,4 -Dbutyl ester inhibits the nitrification of these two soil types to varying degrees,butthe inhibitory efect weakens with the prolongation of the incubation time.Its inhibitory effct on the nitrificationofuplandredsoilcanlastforabout38days,whilethatonthecalcareous fluvo-aquicsoil lasts for3-9 days.Theapplicationof2,4-Dbutylesterherbicidehas thedual efectsof weed controlandreducing soil nitrificationrate,whichcanefectivelyinhibittheconversionofammoniumnitrogentonitratenitrogeninthesoil, therebyreducing nitrogen lossand environmentalpollution causedby processes such as nitrate nitrogen leaching and denitrification.Theresearchprovidesareferenceforregulatingsoilnitrificationand improving nitrogen fertilizerutilization efficiency.
