Abstract:Basedonabalancedpaneldatasetof 409Chinesecountiesfrom2013to2O2O,thisstudyemploysthesequential DEA-Malmquistindexmodeltosystematicallymeasurethegrowthcharacteristicsofagriculturaltotalfactorproductivity(P)and decomposeitintofrontiertechnologicalprogress,puretechnicalfciency,andscaleeficiencyrevealingregionalheterogeeity anditsdriving mechanisms.Thefindingsindicatethatduringthesample period,county-levelagriculturalTFPgrewatan average annual rate of 1.1% ,significantlybelowthe national average,exhibiting a"efficiency-driven,technology-lagging" extensive growth pattrn.Pure technical efficiency,with an average annual growth of 1.1% ,wasthe primary driver,while scale eficienypartialloseegativeimpactoffrotiertchnologicalprogress.Ateegioalleveltheasteregionacieved coordinated growth in technology,eficiency,and scale(average annual rateof 0.95% );thecentral region experienced volatile TFP, constrainedbyasignificantdeclineinfrontiertechnologicalprogress;thewesternregionmaintainedsteadygrowththrough technologicaladvancement;andthenortheasternregiondisplayedabnormalfluctuationsduetoresourceconsraintsandtechnical adaptationisues.Testudyrevealsthatfrontiertechnologicalprogresservesasthe"coreanchor"foragriculturalTPgrowthat thecountylevel,butthedrivingpatesvaryregionallThisresearchprovidesmicro-levelempiricalsupportforforulating diferentiatedagriculturalquality-improvementandefciency-enhancementpoliciesandfosteringnewagriculturalproductivity.
