Abstract:The"blank-leaving"aesthetics intraditional Chinesepaintingandcalligraphy,astheessenceofEasternartistic philosophy,constructs aunique visual system through the interplay between voidand substance.Liuqing Bamboo Carving employs the green epidermis of bambooas its medium,formingamonochromatic aesthetic throughthe "color-reduction" technique.Thepreservationorremovalofbamboogreen incarvingembodiesthephilosophicalcontemplationof"utilityandnonutility."However,existingstudiespredominantlyfocusonfomalconectionsbetweenpainting/callgraphyandcarvingwhile neglectingtheirprofound dialogueinthedimensionofcolor.Thisstudyestablishesacolordialogue model betweenpainting/ calligraphyandbamboocarvingthrough empiricalresearch.Bydeconstructing thedifferences between the spatialnarrative strategyof"usinggrenaswhite"andtheparadigmof"treatingwhiteasblack"inink washpainting,itdemonstrateshowthe natural color-revealing process ofbambo’s lifecycle shapes thecologicalcolor philosophyof "harmonious collboration between nature and humanity" in green-keeping craftsmanship.
