Abstract：AsatraditionalformofpaitingartexpressionwithlocalandnationalcharacteristicsinChina，Taouawuoodblock New Year paintings haverichcultural connotationsand significant artisticstyles incolor expression，which hasimportant referencesignificancefortheuseofcolorinthefieldofartdesign.Basedonthis，thispaperanalyzesandrefines thecolor characteristics of Suzhou Taohuawu woodblock New Year oainting andintegrates them withthe traditional Chinese zodiac images for design practiceinnovation.Ithasanimportant impacton howtoinherit the traditionalTaohuawu wood-panel New Year paintings，and also has reference significance for creating works of art with modern characteristics.
