Abstract：This paper explores thefunctions and creative principlesofcharactercolordesignin mythological animatedfilms.By analyzingthedierencesbetweecolordsigninmythologicalandrealisticanimatedfilms，itrevealsthatcolorinmythological animatiocarries multiplefunctions，includingcultural symbolismandemotional expresion.The paper compares thechanges in colordesign from thetraditionalanimationperiodtothedigitalanimation eraand examinesthecharacteristicsofcolordesign fordiferentcharacter types （e.g.，heroes，viains，supportingroles）.Thestudyfinds that color notonlystrengthenschaacter personalityandeoionalcommunicationbutalsodrives narativedevelopmnt，makingitanessentialnarrtivetoolinamated works.
