Abstract：As the maincarierofChinese traditionalculture，thecolorsystemof opera costumes has precipitatedaunique symbolicepresentationsystemafterthousandsofyearsofevolution.Inthepresentationofopera，colorisnotonlyasuperficial presentationofvisualinformation，utalsobearsthecorefunctionof ransmitingcharactertrbutesandconstructingnative situations.Thiscolorsymbolsystemwiththetraditionalfive-colorviewasthecornerstoneisshapedbyphilosophicalthoughts and folk aesthetics，and forms VisU in dynamic performances. Therefore， this paper systematically discussesthefunctional dimension ultu at101 f the color of opera costumes in characterization，in the hope of revealing the deep connection n traditional aesthetic laws and modern stage context，and providing theoretical references for the contemporary development of opera costume design.
