Abstract: [Purposes] To determine the optimal dosage of modified latex powder for preparing hightoughness and high-adhesion modified mortar,thereby addressing issues such as insufficient early strength and poor bonding performance in traditional mortar.[Methods] VAE-based redispersible latex powder was modified using silane coupling agents to obtain modified latex powder,and its effect on the mechanical properties of modified mortar wasanalyzed.[Findings] The experimental results show that the modification with silane coupling agents enables the modified latex powder to form bridging bonds between organic and inorganic materials,enhancing the compactness of the mortar and thus improving its performance. The 1-day compressive strength and flexural strength reached 36.63 MPa and 4.45 MPa, respectively,and the 14-day split tensile strength reached 2.14 MPa.[Conclusions] The research findings enhance the applicability of modified mortar in engineering practice.
