Abstract: [Purposes] To analyze the operational safety of heavy-haul trains when passing through curves and under braking delay conditions,and further explore its influencing factors,a heavy-haul train-track dynamic model was constructed using the SIMPACK dynamic simulation software.[Methods] The operational safety of the train when passing through curves is analyzed bycalculating the derailment coefficient and the wheel load reduction rate.The operational safety of the train under braking delay conditions is analyzed by calculating the coupler force and the wheelset lift amount.[Findings] To ensure the safety of train operation,the speeds when passing through curves with radiiof 600,800,1 000,and 1 20O m should not exceed 80, 85,90, and 100km/h ,respectively.When the braking time interval for each vehicle is 0.01 s and 0.02 s,the braking force should not exceed 8O0 kN and 6OO kN,respectively.[Conclusions] The operating speed,operating curve radius,braking force,and braking time interval of heavy-haul trains all affect the operational safety of the train.
