Effects of different combinations of sand and soil on soil physicochemical properties and the growth, yield and quality of tomato

Abstract:Toexplore theimprovement effectofdesertyellowsandonthecultivationsoiloffacilityvegetables in the HexiCorridor,byaddingdiferentproportionsofdesertyellowsandtothefacilitysoil,theinfluenceofthechangeinthe proportion ofyellowsandonthephysical andchemical propertiesof thesoil,as wellas the growth,yieldandqualityof tomato were studied.Theresults showed thattheratioofsand addition was inverselyproportional tothecontentof soil organic mater,totaltrogen,lkal-drolyabletrogen,totalposphors,vailableposphors,totalpotassailablepotassium,ECvalue,andpH.Whentheratioofsoiltoandis3:1,thecontentof totalnitrogen,totalphosphorus, total potassium, decreased by 17.85% , 16.4% , 12.21% compared with soil culture,respectively, the EC value and pH decreased by 6.27% ,0.31,and the ventilation porosity increased by 5.79 percent point.Tomato plant growth,yield and quality indicators showed positive growth firstandthen negative growth with the increaseof proportionofsand.When the ratio of soil to sand is3:1,the plant heightand stem diameter of tomato plants are increased by 4.45% 5.49% ,the single fruit mass,single plant yield and 667m2 yield are increased by 9.20% 20.40% and 17.39% ,respectively,the content of solublesugar,solubleprotein,vitamin Candsolublesolidsinfruitsareigher thanthatinothertreatments,andthecontentof solublesolids wassignificantly increasedbyO.O9 percent pointscompared with soilcultivation.The tomato growth index,yieldindex,andqualityindex areoptimalwhentheratioofsoil tosandis3:1.Thecorrelationanalysis shows that thechanges ofsoil physicochemical propertiesarecloselyrelatedtothe growth,yieldandqualityof tomato. The aditionofsand can improve soilconditions,increase tomato yieldand improvequalitywhich provides theoretical basisforthe improvementof facilitysoil in thisarea.
